Robinson College is delighted to invite applications for the William Waite Scholarship from EU students pursuing studies in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) at the University of Cambridge.

About the Scholarship

The William Waite Scholarship was established by Claudio Corbetta (Mathematics, 1991) in honour of Mr William Waite, an inspirational mathematics teacher who played a pivotal role in mentoring Claudio from his early education in the UK through to his studies at Cambridge University. Claudio explains that he created the scholarship: “to make education more accessible and empower deserving students to achieve their dreams—just as Mr. Waite did for me!”

Dr Claire Wilkinson, Admissions Tutor at Robinson College, added: “The William Waite Scholarship is intended to support EU students who have the potential to thrive at Cambridge but are held back by financial constraints. The scholarship is about more than just financial support—it opens the door to all that Robinson College, and the wider University of Cambridge, has to offer, including a vibrant community and a wealth of extracurricular opportunities in sport, drama, music, and beyond.”

This means-tested award supports academically talented students who may face financial barriers to studying at Cambridge. The scholarship is worth up to £10,000 per year for three years, with the potential for further funding to support a Master's degree.
